  • Objectives

    The DESU - Diplôme d'Études Supérieures Universitaires - Techniques de communication scientifique is aimed at students enrolled in science and health degrees, and at scientists (working in research laboratories in particular) who wish to strengthen their skills in the fields of communication, digital and audiovisual technologies.

    In 4 intensive weeks, this DESU adds a new dimension to participants' scientific expertise by developing their ability to translate research results and issues into clear, rigorous and accessible communication, serving the dialogue between science and society.

  • Skills and knowledge

    At the end of the course, students will be able to:

    • Master notions of the mediatization of scientific knowledge.
    • Master notions of information-communication applied to media and new digital environments.
    • Understand digital and audiovisual languages.
    • Master the basic rules of media, audiovisual and digital writing.

    Career opportunities and/or further study :

    Depending on the student's previous training, the targeted professions include: internal or external communications assistant, scientific information editing assistant, scientific editor, press relations, in a variety of professional environments: communications agency, audiovisual production company, media (particularly for web content), research institutes, public scientific and technological establishments (EPST), pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies.

    You can continue your studies with a Master's degree in Neuroscience and a Master's degree in Communication with a general interest option at EJCAM, or with the Doctoral Program in Neuroscience.

  • Admission requirements

    • Be a master's or doctoral student in a science or health specialty OR hold a master's or doctoral degree in a science or health specialty.
    • Present a personal and professional project related to scientific communication and popularization.
    • Proficiency in French (C2 level required) and English (B1 level required).
