IMSIC - Mediterranean Institute of Information and Communication Sciences
Created as from March 2017 on the basis of the new contract of the establishments of the University of Toulon (UTLN) and Aix-Marseille University, linked by an Association of establishments, IMSIC is a team in cotutelle of the two establishments with main tutelage of UTLN.
IMSIC represents above all a desire to structure a research laboratory firmly anchored in Information and Communication Sciences and is part of a transversal research approach focusing on the Euro-Mediterranean dimension, with a partnership strategy and direct or associated involvement with numerous representative national and international networks. The laboratory thus conducts a research work linked, in particular, to the relations between sciences and societies (digital humanities, transformations and socio-technical changes), to the diffusion of knowledge, to crucial issues such as ecological transitions, territorial planning, health, education, international cooperation, social issues, and political action. The inter and transdisciplinary orientation is worked on and developed with other disciplines in the social sciences and humanities but also with other disciplines in the field of experimental and formal sciences (health, environment...).
