Last April, thirteen students took part in the tests for the Europe 1 Lauga-Delmas scholarship: a radio report to be produced in three hours on an imposed theme, a web version of the report in one hour, and the preparation and recording of a news flash also in one hour.
The students had to choose a subject among the imposed themes "Life at work", "Family unit" or "Leisure", to be linked with the current slogan of Europe 1 "Listen to the world change".
Solène Leroux opted for the "Leisure" theme and focused on sportsmen and women, frustrated by not having access to equipment during this pandemic period. She made a sound walk in Paris with three Nordic walking enthusiasts, an outdoor sport in Finland in the 1920s.
At the end of these events, Solène Leroux was one of the three finalists for this prestigious scholarship.
The Lauga-Delmas Scholarship is a competition organized by the French radio station Europe 1 to distinguish the best students in their final year of journalism school. It pays tribute to Francis Lauga, a reporter for the station who died in a plane crash in 1961, and to Alain Delmas, a reporter for the Police-Justice department who died in November 2006.
