Festival Effets réels

Discussions with intellectual Constantin Sigov and Sergiy Kvit, President of the University of Kiev Mohyla Academy, hosted by students from EJCAM's Master's in Journalism and International Issues, in the presence of Éric Berton, President of Aix Marseille Université.

Sergiy Kvit, Ukrainian academic and former minister, is committed to defending his country's intellectual and cultural autonomy. Constantin Sigov, Franco-Ukrainian philosopher and publisher, heads the European Center at Mohyla University. Through his work, he questions Ukraine's place in the history and future of Europe. Committed, he fights for the defense of culture and intellectual vitality in Ukraine, despite the war.

These meetings take place as part of the Effets réels international literary festival, dedicated to contemporary forms of writing about reality, memory and political and social commitment.
The festival brings together European writers, journalists, artists and translators around a common question: how can literature express today's world in the face of the crises it faces? Encounters, round tables, performances, screenings and workshops explore the relationship between testimony and literary creation, personal stories and collective history, the transmission of memories, war, migration and resistance. From the Ukraine to the Mediterranean, from family legacies to erased memories, the festival defends a living, critical and committed literature, capable of grasping the present and renewing the forms of non-fictional narrative.
