A morning dedicated to media and information literacy

Fake news, artificial intelligence, social media, critical thinking: the TropMytho Info Truck will make a stop at EJCAM on the morning of Thursday, October 1.
Organised by Lumières sur l’info, an association dedicated to media and information literacy, the TropMytho Info Truck will be parked in the courtyard of EJCAM’s Marseille campus.
This stop will give students the opportunity to meet Carole Duffréchou, executive director of Lumières sur l’info and head of the Marseille office, and to learn about the association’s efforts to promote access to reliable information and foster critical thinking.
A Mobile Educational Resource
On board the “Camion de l’info”: thematic exhibits, a serious game, a press review, audio and video reporting equipment, magazines, and various educational resources.
The goal of this event is to provide a hands-on introduction to Lumières sur l’info’s approach and its “outreach” strategy, allowing students to explore the tools and practices of media and information literacy.
This morning session will also provide an opportunity to discuss the various initiatives developed by the association: visits to schools, awareness-raising campaigns, public engagement events, as well as the launch of senior clubs focused on current events and combating isolation.
Understanding Information to Navigate It Better
Through this event, EJCAM aims to give its students the opportunity to reflect on current issues related to information: How can we distinguish a fact from an opinion? How can we identify reliable information? How can we avoid the pitfalls of misinformation, content generated or manipulated by artificial intelligence, and social media?
A hands-on immersion in the challenges of media and information literacy, at the heart of contemporary journalistic and civic practices.
