Fidelia Ibekwe is Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at Aix-Marseille University.
Holder of a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) in Foreign Languages & Litteratures from the University of Port-Harcourt (Nigeria) and a Maîtrise (Master's degree) in Lettres Modernes from the Université Stendhal, Grenoble 3, she pursued a course of study in Information and Communication Sciences (ICS), obtaining a DEA (post-graduate diploma) and then a PhD in ICS from the Université Stendhal, Grenoble 3. She then obtained her Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches en SIC in 2010.
Before joining Aix-Marseille University's School of Journalism and Communication (EJCAM), Fidelia was a lecturer at the University of Nancy 2 (IUTA), then at the University of Lyon 3. From 2007-2009, she was Visiting Research Scholar at the College of Information Science & Technology, University of Drexel, Philadelphia (USA).Her areas of research:
1. Racism and decolonial studies, critical race theory, algorithmic governance and bias, data colonialism
2. Data processing and visualization (terminology extraction, clustering, text mining, information visualization)
3. Uses of information and communication technologies: impact of Big Data, Open Data and Web 2.0 on science and society
4. Theoretical and epistemological foundations of the scientific method.
Fidelia Ibekwe was a member of the Commission Nationale des Universités (CNU) for the 71st from 2011-2014, and again from 2015-2019. She is an occasional reviewer for A-rank journals including the Canadian Journal of Information Science, Knowledge Organization (Ergon-Verlag), Journal of Applied Ontology (IOS Press), Pattern Recognition Letters (Elsevier), Neurocomputing (Elsevier).
She is a member of several learned societies, including SFSIC (Société Française des Sciences de l'Information et de la Communication), International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO) and Association for Information Science & Technology (formerly American Society for Information Science & Technology). She was President of the French Chapter of ISKO from 2009-2011 and a member of the association's executive board at international level. She was President of the European Chapter of ASIST from 2011-2012, with over 100 members from several European countries. She was elected member of the ASIST Executive Board from 2014-2017.

Brigitte Juanals est Professeure des universités en Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication à Aix-Marseille Université. Elle a assuré la fonction de directrice adjointe de l’EJCAM de 2016 à 2021.
Après des études en Sciences de l’information et de la communication et en Sciences Psychologiques et Sciences de l’Education, elle a obtenu un doctorat en Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication (SIC) en 2001 à l’Université Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle. Elle a ensuite obtenu une Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (2008) en SIC à l’Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7. Avant de rejoindre l’Ecole de Journalisme et de Communication (EJCAM) d’Aix-Marseille Université, elle a exercé en tant qu’enseignant-chercheur à l’Université de Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle, à l’Université de Lille 3 puis à l’Université Paris Nanterre.Enseignante à l’EJCAM depuis septembre 2015, elle assure la responsabilité pédagogique de la spécialité Communication des organisations en santé, social, bien-être (COSAN) dans la mention de Master Information- Communication.
Ses enseignements portent sur : Théories de la communication (Licence 3) ; Communication et environnements médiatiques (Master 1) ; Communication publique (Master 1) ; Méthodologie de la communication (Master 1) ; Communication des organisations, stratégies et innovation (Master 2) ; Méthodologie du mémoire de fin d’études (Master 2).
Chercheure au Centre Norbert Elias (UMR 8562), elle est co-responsable scientifique de la thématique « Ecologies et soins ». Elle a été chercheure invitée (2018, 2019) à l’UMI iGLOBE (CNRS-University of Arizona) dont elle est chercheuse associée.

Brigitte Juanals dirige et participe à des projets de recherche (appels thématiques, contrats régionaux, ANR, Labex). After studying Information and Communication Sciences and Psychological and Educational Sciences, she obtained a doctorate in Information and Communication Sciences (SIC) in 2001 from the Université Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle. She then obtained an Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (2008) in SIC at Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7. Before joining the School of Journalism and Communication (EJCAM) at Aix-Marseille University, she worked as a teacher-researcher at the University of Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle, the University of Lille 3 and the University of Paris Nanterre.A teacher at EJCAM since September 2015, she is responsible for the teaching of the specialization Communication des organisations en santé, social, bien-être (COSAN) in the Information-Communication Master's program.
Her teaching focuses on: Communication theories (Licence 3); Communication and media environments (Master 1); Public communication (Master 1); Communication methodology (Master 1); Organizational communication, strategies and innovation (Master 2); Dissertation methodology (Master 2).
A researcher at the Centre Norbert Elias (UMR 8562), she is scientific co-director of the " Ecologies and Care " theme. She has been a guest researcher (2018, 2019) at the UMI iGLOBE (CNRS-University of Arizona), where she is an associate researcher.
