  • Objectives

    The Data & Digital Information Devices option will be delivered in 2024, subject to approval by Aix-Marseille University.

    This option aims to provide students with data literacy through essential theoretical concepts as well as skills in data analysis tools. Data literacy encompasses the critical thinking skills needed to interpret data and communicate its significance to others. In addition to the core courses common to all options, students in the Data & Digital Information Devices option will have specific courses about Big Data and digital methods through theoretical reflections on the datafication of contemporary societies, but also through situational exercises and applications in social network analysis, e-reputation management and digital marketing.

    Objectives
    Students will learn to put into practice the various stages of data analysis, from needs analysis, data collection and cleansing, through to analysis, interpretation and visualisation of results. In addition, students will learn to master content creation, digital communication and user-centered web design (UX & UI design).
    The courses specific to this option are : Open-data, Content & data curation; Strategic intelligence; Website design; Social networks & Community Management; Digital methods I: introduction; Digital methods II: in-depth.

  • Admission requirements

    The Data & Digital Information Devices option is open to students with an Bachlor degree in Economics, Law, Human and Social Sciences, Statistics and Data Processing, in Mathematics and Computer Science applied to Social and Human Sciences, Information and Document Management in Organisations (IDMO), and Information Architecture and Digital Design (IU/UX). Admission to M2 is open to students with 4 years of higher education (Baccalaureate - High School Diploma + 4 years of university studies), on the basis of a portfolio. 
    Comfortable working with different IT environments and systems is a basic prerequisite. General knowledge of data manipulation, such as intermediate or advanced use of spreadsheets, is highly desirable. Knowledge of digital data issues (open data, data curation, data literacy) and data processing software (Gephi, R, etc.) will be a plus.

  • Internship

    Five-month internship possible in the first year of the Master's program, six-month internship possible in the second year, including 8 weeks of compulsory internship.
