The idIA charter (ideas about AI) was born of a simple conviction: it's the students who have the right words to talk about their use of AI. So EJCAM invited them to speak.
35 student volunteers, from all disciplines and all levels, co-constructed this charter during four workshops held on the Aix-en-Provence and Marseille campuses, between November 2025 and February 2026. Sociocratic exchanges, collective intelligence, freedom of speech: they explored their practices, identified risks, shared their points of reference, and collectively formulated the best practices they want to see adopted in their future careers in information and communication, and journalism.
Each argument in the charter is derived from their own words, only slightly reworked. A first for a journalism school. It's an approach faithful to the principles of active teaching: learning by doing, together, supported by a lucid, critical and committed generation.

Led by Céline Aguilera, educational engineer at EJCAM, and students, this initiative marks the opening in 2025 of a space dedicated to collective reflection and experimentation around artificial intelligence.
