Any student, in the course of his or her training, may request a gap in his or her academic career.
The gap in studies is related to one or two semester(s) of interruption. This interruption must be justified by the acquisition of a professional or personal experience that enhances and supports the skills acquired during the course. At the end of the gap period, the student returns to the program he or she interrupted. Please note: it is not possible to take a gap year at the end of an M2 degree.
Interested students will find all the documents and information on the AMU website concerning the procedures for applying for a gap year. This request must be approved by the academic director of the specialization or course of study being followed.
If the request is accepted, the departing student undertakes to maintain contact with his/her academic supervisor (at least three email exchanges during the gap year). Failure to respect this commitment renders the gap year contract null and void (the student is no longer sure of finding his or her place in the program).
Applications can only be submitted online, via the E-candidat application, in accordance with the application campaign dates. Do not wait until the last moment to fill in your application form (supporting documents to be provided).
